The Wireless Power Consortium on Thursday announced that cellphone maker Nokia has become one of its members. SanDisk on Wednesday announced it has released memory cards meant specifically for portable gaming systems such as Sony's PSP Go and PSP as well as the Nintendo DSi. All significantly boost the storage capacity of said systems, with the PSP Go's capacity doubled by the new 16GB Memory Stick Micro M2 card. There is a 32GB Memory Stick PRO Duo and a Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo of the same capacity for the PSP from Sony, while the DSi gets an 8GB SDHC card.

Sony will soon release its DPP-F700 photo frame, which also includes a built-in photo printer. The 7-inch screen on the frame sports 800x480 resolution, and there is 1GB of built-in memory. Users can display the current time in a choice of 21 templates. The integrated printer can create 4x6-inch prints at up to 300x300dpi resolution. The prints uses TruFast technology, meaning they are resistant to fingerprint marks, water and discoloration when exposed to light. Photos stored on the frame can be printed in less than one minute.

The ATI Radeon HD 5870 x2 and a new 5850 X2 graphics card have been spotted in photos recently. The former has been leaked earlier, and should be out on the market sometime in October. JVC has introduced its latest digital camcorder first in Japan, the PICSIO GC-FM1. The company's first attempt at a pocket camera like the Flip, it measures just 5.8 by 2 by inches in size but packs an 8-megapixel still photo sensor that records video at 2.03 megapixels. The latter gives it 4:3 ratio 1080p (1440x1080) video at 30 frames per second in the H.264 (AVCHD) format on SD and SDHC memory cards. The Palm Pre smartphone is now being offered for $100, its lowest price thus far. The device launched at $199 on a two-year contract from wireless provider Sprint, with Amazon  now selling the handset on its site for the record-low price.
